Gloucester Travel was founded in 1989 by Ed and Eleanor Lot and Chick and Doris Cavanaugh in its original 105 N Broadway location. The agency was sold to Joe and Dolores Raube in 1998. Many remember Joe’s memorable bus trips to baseball games in Boston and to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Great times indeed!
Travel industry executive and consultant Bob Booth purchased Gloucester Travel in 2004 determined to demonstrate that personalized service and an uncompromising commitment to the customer would still reign supreme in the digital age. Bob made Gloucester City his home shortly after. Susan Hathcock, also a former travel industry executive, joined the agency as Bob’s partner in 2005. In 2006, they purchased 114 N Broadway and moved the agency across the street to the location you know well.
Since opening, the agency has hosted many large group movements including an 800 person cruise for the Mary Kay Corporation. This, of course, in addition to the countless family vacations and travel adventures we’ve had the pleasure of being a part of.
Bob Booth and Susan Hathcock still run the agency today and serve leisure customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and group customers nationwide.
