a few reasons to choose a travel agency
We've got you covered
No matter what type of trip you are interested in booking, even in this age of information at your fingertips, there are many reasons to choose a travel agency. Here are just a few!
We will put our 30+ years of industry knowledge to work for you! We can often offer money saving deals and suggestions. You occasionally plan a trip, but it’s our business to know the in’s and out’s.
We’ve all had the experience of agonizing over trip details. We will expertly arrange all aspects of your trip consulting with USTOA preferred suppliers as well as drawing on our experience doing business in 34+ countries.
Time savings Galore
With the pace of life these days, your time is more important than ever. Spend your time looking forward to your vacation instead of doing search after search for the best deal! We offer a Best Price Guarantee on all Vacation Packages and can often save you money with early booking discounts and supplier promotions!
Handling the Unexpected
Between flight cancellations, travel industry labor shortages and health crises such as COVID, travel these days is more unpredictable than ever. Let us have your back! Recently we’ve even gone as far as working with a US Embassy to help our customers with COVID issues return from a European country. In addition, we provide travel insurance claim submission assistance. Without a travel advisor, you are on your own.
We care about our customers and often build life-long and multigeneration relationships with them. One of the most enjoyable aspects of our business is to watch the children who went to Disney with their parents, grow up and travel as young adults, plan their honeymoons and then begin their own family vacation adventures (often with their parents). In-depth knowledge of our customers enables us to recommend the best possible vacation experiences.
a few words about us
30+ Years of Travel Excellence
Gloucester Travel was founded in 1989 by Ed and Eleanor Lot and Chick and Doris Cavanaugh in its original 105 N Broadway location. The agency was sold to Joe and Dolores Raube in 1998. Many remember Joe’s memorable bus trips to baseball games in Boston and to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Great times indeed!
Travel industry executive and consultant Bob Booth purchased Gloucester Travel in 2004 determined to demonstrate that personalized service and an uncompromising commitment to the customer would still reign supreme in the digital age. Bob made Gloucester City his home and in 2006 purchased 114 N Broadway and moved the agency across the street to the location you know well. The agency later rebranded as Gloucester Travel & Cruise and has provided countless multigenerational family vacations as well as large group movements of up to 800 cruisers.
Since opening, the agency has hosted many large group movements, including an 800 person cruise for the Mary Kay Corporation. This, of course, in addition to the countless family vacations and travel adventures we’ve had the pleasure of being a part of.
Bob Booth still owns and runs the agency today and serves leisure customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and group customers nationwide.
